Description:MidCountry Financial is a financial services holding company with its home office in Macon, Georgia. We are currently seeking an Interanl Auditor to join our team in the Minnetonka area.

Position Summary:

The Internal Auditor is responsible for executing risk-based internal audits and providing management with on going risk and control feedback.
Duties:1. Test and/or lead risk-based internal audits.
• Conduct testing of specified area and identify reportable issues and dimension of risk.
• Conduct risk assessment of assigned department or functional area as part of audit planning.
• Determine scope of audit in addition to review of internal control design and adequacy.

2. Provide Management with ongoing risk and control feedback.
• Effectively communicate issues to management and present the trends and root causes.
• Draft comprehensive and complete drafts of audit report.
• Appropriately identify issues and effectively write them up including all attributes of a finding.
• Effectively perform follow up and validation of audit issues.

3. Participate and execute special requests/projects as needed.
• Monitor on-going and emerging risks and provide appropriate audit coverage.
• Actively engage in assigned advisory and/or project audits, and/or fraud investigations.
• Develop and recommend scope of coverage.
Additional Duties: Participate in audit department enhancements. Attend appropriate training and obtain CPE to meet department guidelines.

• Identifies a problem by detecting patterns or connections then researches and analyzes the situation, synthesizing the findings, thinking through alternative solutions, and creating well-thought-out plan to solve the problem.

3. Judgment
• Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom and experience.
• Decisions turn out to be correct and accurate.
• Accepts full responsibility for each decision made.
• Makes decisions even in the face of uncertainty, based on adequate information.

Job Requirements


• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent: Accounting, Finance or Related field

• 1 – 3 years audit experience, through public accounting/auditing and/or internal audit experience

• Risk and control knowledge, strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills. Ability to adapt to change and multi-tasking.

• Certifications can be obtained after hired.


• 3 – 5 years audit experience, through public accounting/auditing and/or internal audit experience.

• Experience in Data analysis, IT knowledge, and SOX exposure.

• CPA, CIS or equivalent audit designation
